"When Paul was hanging his art in the gym, I was sitting on the couch 'helping'... and I noticed that some of his paintings had some strange characters featured in them. When I asked him if he modeled them after sock puppets, he looked amused and said that I was right ... they were indeed sock puppets. So I felt pretty impressed with myself for a second. However Paul works on a much deeper level; he puts a lot of himself into his work. Once meeting him, you will understand. His pieces are thought provoking ... and sometimes give me the willies ... but at the same time, they have this element of calm and sereneness to them. Paul doesn't give me the willies ... okay, maybe a little, but I feel that I connect with him on a deeper level mainly because we both live near roundabouts, and we share a fondness for squirrels..."
