Classes: Couples Massage

Couples Massage

(60 minute class)
"So many people ask me if my hands get tired. The answer is always that they shouldn't be getting tired if I am doing this right. Whether you are a pro or just want to give a better massage while you are watching T.V. you need to be using the right tool for the job. Using your hands to loosen tight shoulders is fine if you have giant hands and you are working on tiny shoulders, but most of us should be using leverage and gravity on the larger muscles."

Bring a buddy (any buddy, one who is also a member of the gym) and during class you will each have the opportunity to learn a head to toe body massage. We work on yoga mats in comfortable clothing and bare feet or socks. Couples work on one another, and a couple is any two people. Just like gym membership. Take it from someone who grew up trading back rubs with her mom and sisters, there is nothing bow-chica about my mom's feet.

Couples Massage:
  • come to class with clothes ON
  • bring a buddy
  • bring a yoga mat
  • leave your clothes on
  • decide who will receive first
  • go home happy
  • come back next week and get better.

If you want to get a better massage from your buddy, you can pretend that you actually want to improve YOUR skills. Also, you could just say "we have a massage at 10:00" It's not really lying.

We do not recommend the ambush massage. Massage is something that can be shared with almost anyone, but it is very important that BOTH people are comfortable with massage. We never touch without permission, and since this is a classroom setting we want both partners to be enthusiastic and prepared for learning! Surprises are great, but maybe visit Christopher Elbow for fancy chocolates after class or something.
