"Flight Attendant" Speech/Note to All "Project Poolside Virgins"
"There are exits at both ends of the gym. If the cabin loses pressure, the oxygen masks will release and drop to your level. Make sure to place your oxygen mask on first ... then help those who need it.
Just joking ... seriously, though ...
Project Poolside is basically a personal training session for a group of people ... obviously it isn't "personal" ... because it is for a group of people.
You are in charge of yourself. I want you to push yourself ... but not to the point where you are going to puke or pass out ... because I have two rules ...
NO puking ... and
NO passing out
Even though I know CPR, I never want to have to perform it.
During Project Poolside, we will be doing higher repetitions and lower weights. This will help to keep our heart rates elevated ... and help to burn more calories throughout the class.
If I tell you to do 20 repetitions of an exercise and you can only do 10, do what you can do. Don't worry ... no one is counting your reps ... I promise ... we're all dying!
If something we do hurts in a 'bad' way, stop doing it IMMEDIATELY. Know that there is a difference between the 'bad' pain and the 'good' pain. If you need to modify an exercise, please do so. We all have different aches and pains ... and different injuries.
If you need a modification suggestion, please feel free to talk to me after class is over ... and I will help you find a modification that will best suit your needs."

"Project Poolside is an hour of everything that you should do on your own that you don't. It is basically a personal training session for a group. Don't let the name fool you! There is no pool ... but it will definitely get you ready for the poolside ... and what better time to do so than NOW! Don't put off the inevitable! Spring is ALWAYS just right around the corner.
Aliases: Boot Camp, Cardio Conditioning, Ass Kickin' Class, Ouchie Ma-ma, Bun Buster, Fun Buns, Guts and Butts, Guns and Buns, Best Hangover Cure, Penitence (for the weekend), Bitchin' Buns, Push your Tush, Super Pooper.
Project Poolside includes push-ups, sit ups, lunges, squats, and weight work. It focuses on working out the full body while keeping the heart rate elevated to burn more calories. No body part will be neglected! Weight work will include a series of exercises using lighter weights and higher repetitions.
Project Poolside is a multi-level ability class ranging in difficulty from a medium challenge to an ultra challenge ... depending on how hard you are willing to push yourself. This class is designed so you can choose your own difficulty level. You are in control of your destiny in this class. Stick with it ... and you will see results! It is one of the best workouts that you will get ... guar-uuuuhhhn-teed!"

Still Need Convincing? What Our Members Say About Project Poolside:
"I just wobbled out of Jonetta's tail-kickin' Thursday night class,
Project Poolside. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out on a
ridiculously good strength workout ... like having a personal trainer
three times a week, included in the gym membership. I decided to
commit to at least two classes a week, adding a half hour of cardio
before the class ... and I've lost two dress sizes in the past month
or so.
You'll think she's nuts until a week or two goes by and jeans
magically fit better and you're somehow craving the challenge. The
slight 'ooh-I'm-sore-feeling' the next day just reminds you that
you're pushing yourself. The best part is simply feeling stronger and
having loads of energy. I'm hooked. Give it a shot."
