"It's my sincere belief that yoga is for every body.

Skinny little Indian men invented yoga over 5000 years ago. (In fact, women were not allowed to practice yoga until it made its way to the West in the past several decades.) Yoga asana and its benefits can be enjoyed and experienced by anyone - no matter what 'shape' you may be or what shape you are in.

The word yoga means 'to join' or 'to yoke'. It’s actually a misconception that we 'do' Yoga. Yoga is the process of joining the body and the mind together as one to gain greater connection to the true self. In class we do yoga asana or 'postures' which have been designed to return our bodies to this natural state of mind-body connection.

Do you feel that you may be too stiff to do Yoga? Then this class is exactly what you need. Are you extremely flexible, perhaps in some areas hyper-flexible? You may find this class even more challenging than the folks who are stiff.

* Bring a mat. We have some to
loan but you'll want your own.


I've been practicing Yoga for over 12 years, and for seven of those I have been teaching students in the Kansas City area. I am very excited to share the experience and the joy of this practice with you at Scott Fitness.
